Description

Dress is sheer, floor length, has straight silhouette, short rectangular sleeves, boat neckline. The neck is finished with a band of beading to match rest of dress. Dress has a long tie in the back. No waistline seam, but beading starts at romantic waist* and continues to hem in a Greek style pattern.

The romantic waistline is located on the rib cage directly in the middle of the natural waistline and the bust level.

This dress belonged to the donor's mother who wore it to a wedding at which she performed as the soloist. She met the best man at this wedding and later married him in 1928.

The dress was likely made in France, but bought in Toronto.
